  Are you interested in making a healthy and skinny body? Many Ewha students are frustrated in achieving this because they think there aren’t many places at Ewha for working out or they don’t know how to use the facilities. Actually, there are many places at Ewha where you can exercise between classes and the facilities are very easy to use once you know how. Therefore, to help you to achieve that perfectly healthy and fit body, we explored the campus and put together this guide about four of the many exercise options available on campus.

   Every month the fitness center makes free classes for Ewha students who have not exercised very much in the past. There are personal training programs, G.X program (group exercise) and a sports climbing class in the fitness center. So you can choose the program which suits your specific needs. The ECC fitness center has a lot more new facilities than other fitness centers. And many professionals are there, so if an emergency situation occurs, they can rescue you.

<The Strip>

  The Strip is an open air sport facility situated next to the entrance. This is the largest recreation facility on campus, so many events are held here and many sport clubs use The Strip. This facility includes a running track, a small golf range, two goalposts and several basketball hoops. Many people just use the facilities casually, but if you want to use the facilities formally, you need to apply through Eureka (student service > apply application for using ground).

<Recreation Hall>

  The recreation hall is a gym which is available to students who want to play indoor sports. You can use this facility any time it is not booked. In there, you can do activities like basketball, volleyball and dodgeball which require restricted and lined spaces. Also, you can just hang out with your friends in the hall. If you want to use this facility officially, you can reserve this place through Eureka (click ‘use of space application’). Then you can use the place unobstructed.

<Beacon Fire Station(봉수대)>

Time: free
Fee: free
Location:

  Do you know that Ewha is connected with the mountain? Please don’t just stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning. Let’s do sports outside. It’s interesting. After class, if you want to feel the nature and do sports, you can go to Ansan (안산). At first when you arrive the Tennis Court, there is a road near it, go along this road and turn left, and you will find the entrance of the mountain path. The mountain path is 5-6km long, and the path will take you to the top. When you reach the top, you will see the Beacon Fire Station(봉수대). On the way, you might meet a lot of people who do sports. Climbing the mountain is a very healthy thing to do, and you will enhance your physical power. From Tennis Court to the top of the mountain, it takes 60-90 minutes and you will consume 525kcal calories. It’s also very useful for losing weight. On the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the scenery of Seoul. You will enjoy the time.

  As described in this article, we have many places on campus where we can exercise between classes. Actually, there are many more options than those described above. For example, Ewha has an indoor golf zone, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Many Ewha students study hard in their major, so take the opportunity to balance your busy life with healthy exercise. Just do it!!
